  If you've read or seen "The DaVinci Code" or watched the Discovery or History Channels around Christmas or Easter you've probably heard the term 'Gnosticism.' Gnosticism was an intricate brand of Christianity in the early days of the Church that was eventually condemned as heresy.

Adult education at St. Mark’s has usually focused on the Advent or Lenten seasons. During Lent 2008 we had 2 Adult Education programs. One was a series of 5 Wednesday evening supper/Bible study meetings on the Book of Ruth. The other program was a Sunday afternoon soup/discussion series on world religions, with a focus on Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, and present day Christianity in Palestine. In other years we have had our own Lenten Bible study programs and occasionally have joined with the other local Episcopal churches for special group activities, such as a field trip to the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City.

Dear Parishioner:

We are excited to re-invigorate adult education at St. Mark's and introduce new adult-focused programming to the parish.  And, we want to hear from you to make sure that the programs we offer are exciting and relevant to your spiritual journey.  The attached link is a brief survey of different program options.  It should take 5-10 minutes to complete.  We would like every adult 18+ at St. Mark's to take this survey.  If you prefer to complete this survey on paper, copies are available in the narthex of the church.
